What is the feminism all about ?

 FEMINISM: RISING HEMLINES AND PLUNGING NECKLINES

Is Feminism wrongly understood and misinterpreted: yes

Is Feminist the most abused word by the women themselves: yes

Is feminism all about artificial equality with men these days: yes

The definition is as follows;

the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.

synonyms:

the women's movement, the feminist movement, women's liberation, female emancipation, women's rights.

It was a fight by the women for their rights. Their right to equality. To a meaningful life. To a respectful entity, to a life of honour……

But all this is actually diluted now.  What started as a women’s emancipation movement has now become the laughing stock of certain society flag bearers, the so called intellectuals who thought that equality meant in the literal sense.

SINCE WHEN DID OUR CLOTHES RISING HEMLINE AND PLUNGING NECKLINES DECIDED OUR LEVEL OF MODERNITY

 Since when drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, partying in the night till wee hours, having pre-marital sex, consummating living relations denote feminism.

 Since when did this definition change to satisfy a certain section of the society and the rest just followed like a herd.

Feminism was a movement for the struggling women to come out of their shell. To be able to take decisions in life which would give identity to their existence.

It was a fight for rights in education, employment, decision making, policy making on any front … be it home or work place, right to willful marriage, right to a decent divorced or widowed life, a right to justice.

What started off as very well, has somehow lost its sheen. Men n women are now fighting over petty issues. Men, were very happy in their comfort zone. They led the patriarchal status to the hilt. Women started thinking for themselves n den all hell broke loose.

Men position was challenged.

Women erupted from their shell much to their disappointment and anger. They demanded equality everywhere.  Politics, work positions, domestic front, education, decision making n more.

 Things were not easy especially in the third world countries but still the struggle was on and was actually going strong.

Then came the disruption. N I won’t be surprised if it was all staged by our threatened men.

DEVIATION started from the main agenda. Women got involved in equality of petty issues. They started equating petty independence with the larger picture of equality.

N somehow as we say …….the trail was lost. But still we hope that the struggle will go on. More people/ women  will fight for what is important and just………
